2008 Wine List

Tartan White 2000    A smooth dry wine with a crisp, fruity bouquet.                                                                                  

Dry White    A smooth dry fruity wine that had been aged lightly on baked French Oak made from our Seyval Blanc grape.

Tartan Rosé    Although not as light in body as traditional Roses, this light wine possesses nice balance and beautiful clarity.  This Rose falls in the dry category of wines (less than 1% RS) though it does contain 0.73% residual sugar.  We believe this wine will pair well with a wide variety of dishes.

Syrah    This wine possesses a splendid deep rich burgundy color with a wonderful berry aroma and a very smooth finish.

Tartan Red    This wine is a deep burgundy red with black cherry hues. The aroma reveals layers of blackberry, raspberry and cherry with notes of toffee and blend of spicy cloves and nutmeg.  It has good tannin structure with rich flavors of blueberry, black raspberry and black currants and accents of clove, pepper, vanilla and black licorice. 

 Semi-Dry

Seyval Blanc    This grape produces flavors that are reminiscent of Vinifera whites and is truly the workhorse grape at Tartan Hill. This vintage possesses attractive aromas of hay, green apples and melon with a refreshing fruit flavor and crisp finish. 

Semi-Dry Vignoles Just off-dry to medium-sweetness, and yields a fruity white wine yet rich with tropical fruit and nectarine flavor with a crisp finish.                                                                                                                                                                                              

  Cayuga Jazz    Produced from our estate grown Cayuga White grapes and blended with a touch of raspberries; possesses a distinctive aroma and flavor with a great berry color.  This popular and enjoyable wine is smooth and nicely balanced.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           

Tartan Mist ‘03    A winery favorite, this is a unique light bodied wine with fruity flavor and spicy/Muscat bouquet; easy to drink with a nice balance of sweetness and acid for a clean crisp finish. 

Semi-Sweet

Semi-Sweet Vignoles    Just off-dry to medium-sweetness, and yields a fruity white wine yet rich with tropical fruit and nectarine flavor with a crisp finish.

Oceana Piper’s White One of our most popular wines, this white wine offers a nice blend of sweetness, body, and spicy flavors. The wine possesses German style qualities similar to a Pies Porter.                                                                                                   

Oceana Piper’s Red  A semi-sweet light red style wine blended from our French-American hybrid grapes, predominately the Maréchal Foch variety, which is a dark blue variety that has a sweet black cherry flavor, finishes with just a hint of spiciness.

Sweet

Rare Cream Solera Sherry   Tartan Hill’s Rare-Cream solera Sherry is the ultimate cream sherry, luscious and smooth, rich, complex and very long on the palate with distinctive flavors of rich caramel and baked chestnuts, finishing with a balance of clean acidity.  It possesses an amber gold color that leaves an intense lingering aftertaste and strikes a nice balance of sweetness and richness.
